Adult with additional needs paddling program 2025, supported by Canoeing Ireland 


  • Gain basic paddling skills using kayaks and paddle boards in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Have fun on and off the water.
  • Course will run on 5 consecutive mornings, once per week. Only 3 participants per group.
  • Location, KACC Canoe Club, Canal Walk, Kilkenny.
  • Participants carers must attend and can partake in the program.
  • Participants must be happy to get wet.
  • There is parking at the canoe club.
  • Unfortunately we do not have a hoist.
  • We can arrange advance visits to the site if required for any reason.

  • Arrive at KACC at 9.30am, register and get wetsuits.
  • Get on the water and spend up to 2 hours kayaking.
  • Tea and coffee or refreshments available after the paddle.

Gear to wear:

  • We will provide wetsuits.
  • You must wear something to protect your feet.

Riverbend will provide:

  • A Cag/over jacket
  • Boat, paddle, buoyancy aid and helmet
  • Lots of support and fun and share our lifetime love of paddling.

Wetsuits will be provided

9.30 pm at KACC premises

If you cancel more than 7 days before your course we will refund your booking fee but we would prefer that you offered the place to someone else in your care

However, if your cancellation takes place less than 48 hours before your scheduled paddle, we are more than happy to reschedule your paddling course for another day.
