Join us for a night time paddle in Kilkenny.
Using SUP Boards, take an easy paddle with us upriver, in the peace and tranquility of the River Nore, where you'll learn about some of Kilkenny's rich history and wildlife. You'll pass old sites such as the Castle, St Johns Bridge, the Carnegie Library, and the former Smithwicks Brewery, with a view of St Canice's Cathedral at the top of the river. The trip ends with a leisurely float downstream, where you can take photos of Kilkenny from the river.

Starts and finishes 500 metres downstream of the Kilkenny Hurling statue at Johns Bridge, under Kilkenny Castle walls.
Guests paddle easily upstream taking in the peace and tranquillity of the river Nore, passing along the castle weir, Kilkenny Castle, St Johns bridge, the Carnegie Library and former Smithwick’s Brewery and up towards Greens Bridge with a view of St Canice’s Cathedral.
Learn some of Kilkenny’s history, spot wildlife including ducks, swans and perhaps an otter or kingfisher flitting along the bank.
Make an easy trip back downstream and get photos of yourselves with Kilkenny Castle in the background.
We will provide buoyancy aid along with a SUP board and paddle.
- Please wear lightweight but warm outdoor style clothes, dress in layers.
- Please wear suitable footwear such as running shoes.
- Please bring a full change of clothes and a towel.
- Option to rent a Wet Suit for an additional €6.00 at meeting point.
Riverbend Adventures Ltd require full payment at the time of booking in order to secure all places on tours and camps.
- If you cancel up to 3 hours before your trip we can offer you a full refund or we will reschedule your tour for a new date. Cancellations made less than 3 hours or not attending for your booking will result in the full fee being forfeited. (Cancellation or changes of dates MUST be made by email or phone call only. Voice message or WhatsApp will not be accepted).
- If you cancel between 48 and 24 hours in advance we will book you onto another class, course or trip as availability allows.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance we cannot guarantee that we can reschedule a class, course or trip for you and we will not refund your money.
- Rain will not interfere with our tours or events, so they will run as planned. In very severe weather conditions where the river is in flood or a Met Eireann severe weather warning is in place, it may be necessary to cancel an activity. In that case, we will contact you, giving you as much notice as possible and we will offer you a new booking or a refund.
- Kayak Tours: Kayaking tours are not affected by rain and will proceed.
