Junior kayaking Summer Camps 21st July & August 11th 2026 


Based at KACC canoe club, Canal Walk, Kilkenny from 09:30 to 12:30, Tuesday to Friday

Kilkenny Paddling camp for younger chidlren, age 8 to 13, kayaking, SUP boarding, canoes and short trips- Learn kayaking, SUP boarding, canoeing and bushcraft skills. 

Based at Kilkenny Aqua Canoe Club on Canel Walk.

Dates - 

Camp 1: July 21st  to 24th

Camp 2: August 11th to 14th

Time: 09:30 to 12:30

Camps run Tuesday to Friday.

During the week participants will be introduced to a mix of paddle sports including Kayaking, Canoeing and SUP boards.

Workshops in Exciting disciplines such as canoe Polo and slalom. Students will get to experience short river trips while havinf lots of fun on the river.

The camps will cover water safety, knowledge and skills to build on those begun in school programs towards achieveing Canoeing Ireland - Euro Paddle Plus Level 1 and Level 2 Kayak qualifications.

Children must be signed in and out of the camp every day by a parent or guardian. Children are not allowed to “come and go” by themselves.

Riverbend/ KACC supply all the kayaking gear. 

Your child must have a wetsuit, preferably full length, Swimming gear, a warm fleece/hoodie or thermal that can get wet and also old runners that will be worn when paddling and a towel. 

Bring a full change of warm clothes to wear after paddling.

It’s a busy half day so you’ll need a snack, plenty to drink to keep yourself hydrated throughout.

Please note that places on the camps are limited and will be awarded on a first come first served basis, hence early booking is advised.

It is 1000 metres downstream of the Hurling Statue at Johns Bridge.
